Brian Candelaria

Area 3 Representative


Brian Candelaria was born and raised in New Mexico before his family moved to Oklahoma.  He then graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Multi-Disciplinary Studies from the University of Oklahoma (OU). Prior to obtaining a Master’s Degree in Legal Studies for Indigenous Peoples Law from OU, Brian worked as a legal assistant for almost nine years, specializing in Workers Compensation Law.  He will be entering his third year at Oklahoma City University (OCU) Law School where he is seeking his Juris Doctorate with a Certificate in American Indian Law. He was recently elected the President of the OCU Native American Law Student Association and he is planning on serving the Native American community following his graduation in May 2019.  He has interned with the Oklahoma Indian Law Services and the OCU Jodi G. Marquette American Indian Wills Clinic.  Brian looks forward to working with members of the NNALSA Board and individual Area 3 NALSA’s during his term as Area 3 Representative.
