MEET KARYN
Karyn Bloxham is Chemehuevi, Navajo, and an enrolled member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes. She is a University of New Mexico School of Law 2028 J.D Candidate and holds a B.S. in Dental Hygiene, a Master's in Public Health with an emphasis in Health Promotion, and a Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Health. She is a 2025 PLSI graduate and a 2024-2025 LSAC Plus Scholar.
She is the Vice President of the University New Mexico School of Law NALSA Chapter and served as a 1L Representative. Her goal as Area 2 Representative of National NALSA is to serve the NALSA Chapters within Area 2 by ensuring they are seen, heard, and supported. She aims to foster cooperation, unity, and community within Area 2 and National NALSA to uplift Indigenous law students.
Prior to law school, she practiced as a dental hygienist for ten years, holding licensure in California and Arizona. She has utilized her academic and professional background in public health and Indigenous health to best serve her diverse patients. She aims to transfer those skills into the legal field to serve Tribal communities. She is passionate and committed to improve Indigenous community health and well-being through the practice of Tribal sovereignty.
