2026 Writing Competition

25th Annual

National NALSA

Writing Competition

The University of Colorado and its Law Review are hosting NNALSA’s 2026 Writing Competition in collaboration with Colorado’s Native American Law Students Association (“NALSA”) chapter. The goal of the Competition is to encourage law students to become involved with National NALSA and increase awareness and education regarding legal issues that impact Native Nations, Inter-tribal organizations, and Indigenous communities.

Brittany Rogers, Colorado Law ’28, is serving as the Writing Competition Administrator.

“This competition reflects a shared commitment to fostering inclusivity and expanding access to legal publication for underrepresented voices,” said Sam Hawkinson ’26, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Editor for CLR. “Through the University of Colorado Law Review Forum, we are excited to showcase diverse and impactful student scholarship while supporting meaningful representation in the legal academy.”

Applications for the NNALSA Writing Competition open on January 19, and the deadline for submission will be Monday, March 23, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. MT.

All submissions are due to Brittany Rogers, the Writing Competition Administrator, at writingcompetition@nationalnalsa.org.
